Sensei Stuart Tickner @ Shinjitsu Martial Arts
I took up Karate in 1995 at the age of 10, looking for a hobby which would enable me to defend myself, improve my self confidence, and keep me fit. I found all of this and so much more- Karate has also improved my concentration and self-discipline.
I took over the running of Shinjitsu Martial Arts in 2005, and now spend the majority of my time teaching students and training instructors. I find nothing more rewarding than watching the next generation flourish and develop not only as martial artists but also as human being.
I have been privileged to train with so of the most inspiring martial arts practitioners from all over the world, including Grand Master Jack Hogan, Bruce Chiu, Grand Master Bill Thurston, Professor Leon Jay, Professor dave Hodgson, Professor Robert Brown, Sensei Ernie Blackburn, Sensei Ticky Donovan OBE, Sensei Vic Charles MBE and Master Andy Wilshaw,
I have also had some training in other martial arts including Jujitsu, Taekwondo, and Shaolin Weng Chun Kung Fu, and have sought to incorporate some of these influences into my Karate training. Back to section
